Opened in 2012
The Pompton Lakes Volunteer Fire Department was set up in 1895. A structure was built to develop a horse-drawn hook and ladder company at 300 Wanaque Ave in 1902. It is from this building that they passionately served the community until the department moved to its current location in 1979.
